In the conclusion to the East of the Sun trilogy, Evy Varley and Rogan Chantry return to get married and again return to Africa. Evy's desire to return to Africa causes her to lie about being pregnant with their honeymoon baby, but her lie has the potential to destroy the trust in their marriage. Rogan leaves Evy at his uncle's mission upon arrival and sets out on a quest of his own. The struggle to save their marriage is compounded by malaria, murder, and an African uprising, while Evy puts her time to trying to clear her mother's name.
