Turn to Me (#03 in Misty River Romance Series)

What's not to love about a brooding hero, an adorable puppy, and a treasure hunt! After having read-and loved-the first two books in this series and meeting Luke in those, I was soooo excited to finally read Luke's own story. And wasn't disappointed in the least. Such a great story of grace, redemption and learning to truly live. So good.

Turn to Me is the third book in the Misty River series. These are all stories about the """"Miracle Five"""", five teenagers who survived eight days trapped in a basement in El Salvador after an earthquake hit. Turn to Me could easily have been a feel-good story about the do-gooder accidentally falling for her latest rescue project, but it's so much more. Finley has issues of her own, although it takes a while for her to admit them to herself, let alone to Luke. But the two are a good match in that while their backgrounds are different, there will be similarities in their respective paths to healing. What throws the two of them together (more than just work) is the treasure hunt. Finley's father made Luke promise to help her, which is the only reason he's back in Misty River: his plan is to move to Montana. \\n\\nThe treasure hunt was a lot of fun, and is a unique plot idea. I will admit to being pleased that I got one clue long before Finley and Luke . . . But there was also an element of suspense, because Ed's last words before dying had been that the treasure hunt might put Finley in danger. \\nOverall, this was another excellent contemporary Christian romance from Becky Wade. The only problem is that it will now be another year before I get to read another new Becky Wade novel, and I don't know if this is the end of the Misty River series or if we are going to get one more book with Bens' story. Becky Wade has a gift of being able to draw you into the mind and emotions of her characters and story. I read this book in a day because I couldn't put it down. There is a tug of war of emotions between Luke and Finley and a building danger. There is also a cute puppy to lighten things every now and then. This book is a very satisfying finish to the series.
