I'm really loving this series. The books all flow so well into each other. I love the characters that she creates and the lessons they bring. It is really interesting to hear a little about what inspired her for the book as well at the end.

Pure Reading Pleasure
I loved the intensity of this story, right from the beginning, when Tessa arrives in a small mining community as their new teacher, she faces an undaunting future there. Tessa learns on her arrival that they were expecting a male teacher, but she is promised to stay on through the winter until a male teacher can replace her. During her stay she learns to accept the way of life in this small mining community, learns to love the children she teaches and begins to form friendships with the people of this small community. Tessa develops strong feelings for Alex, their beautiful love story is compelling with many challenges that cause them both to face their fears. This is a rich, satisfying and engaging story with an intriguing twist near the end of the book, but there is also some drama and suspense that makes it pure reading pleasure.

Enjoyable Read!
If you enjoy a good romantic historical fiction the 3rd book in this series will not disappoint. From the first pages I was drawn into the journey of the main characters Tess and Alex. Jody Hundlund has set this story around both the dangerous mining industry of the time and the trials of being a lighthouse keeper in a town that you can still visit today and learn the history. I enjoyed the twists and turns throughout this novel as I often do with Jody Hedlund's books!
