    Inspiring Humorous

This is the story of a British Metropolitan police officer of great substance, who earned high respect over the years of his service to the public, as well as fellow members of his profession. Frequently promoted, Robin Oake made a deep impression on his employers, in spite of them always asking how he thought his Christian faith may cause issues. In fact his faith was of considerable advantage to his service and he was always ready to seize any opportunity to share his beliefs. In a number of cases this resulted in souls won for God's Kingdom. His motto was always """"Serve to Lead"""", believing it was only by genuine service that a person had any right to be a leader. Although a number of his positions were at high level management, as well as instructing college courses, his passion was always serving on the streets. A particularly interesting era of his career was on the Isle of Man, but most of his work was in London and Manchester. One of the purposes of his biography was to challenge the quote of WS Gilbert in The Pirates of Penzance, who claimed the lot of a constable was not a happy one. Despite losing his own Special Branch son in the line of duty, he was still able to maintain this outlook. There are many amusing stories peppered throughout the book, illustrating the sense of humour which contributed to his buoyant spirit.
