Jesus' disciples were intolerant, selfish, violent, and dull. They were exactly the sorts of people you would think God couldn't use. Except that he did, and they changed the world. A Dozen Disappointing Disciples is an engaging, and often hilarious, look at the stupid stuff the twelve disciples did. You'll discover how Jesus used them, and how he can use you too. Fun, encouraging, and challenging, this book will help you see that not even your stupidity is any match for the power of Jesus.

A Dozen Disappointing Disciples: How to Do Stupid Stuff and Still Change the World$25.99
Highly recommended for all teens (and anyone who, like me, has been a disappointing disciple). Tom does a great job engaging with the scriptural account of Jesus' first disciples and bridges the gap helpfully to us here and now as disciples of Jesus. Whether it's picking up on Jesus' love for those who follow him, or engaging with the brash attitude they show time and time again, Tom helpfully points us back to the Lord who is committed to discipling his followers. With my youth pastor hat on, I will be giving copies to teens under my care.
