    Dark background?

Titled a song of joy, I was expecting something lighthearted. Since Nilda experiences terrifying nightmares and seems to be chief suspect in the death of a horrible man . . . I presume the reader is expected to consider those circumstances the dark background that makes joy brighter? It didn't work for me. Perhaps reading the first 3 books would help one be more invested in the story.

    A wonderful story

This novel is a continuation story of Nilda's life in America, where life on the farm was simple and spending time with her family was bountiful. Nilda however is given a wonderful opportunity to work for a wealthy woman in Blackduck as her assistant. She find herself immersed in learning a new way of life around people from wealthy backgrounds that sometimes feels like a foreign world to her. But Nilda's faith in God helps her through some challenging times. This story will sweep you away to another time and place of a close-knit community that makes you feel like you are right there. A wonderful story about faith and heart with a touch of romance.
