Historical Figure I Hadn't Heard of Before

Book 8 explores the life of James Calvert as Fijian missionary we hadn't actually heard of before.

I was reading about pirates and cannibals when I stumbled on to the world of James Calvert the missionary. James Calvert entered the world on 3-1-1830. His first trade was book binding which would be very useful later on in his life. Then he went to Bible college but stopped to go on a ship to Fiji with others like himself to preach. He translated the Bible into Fijian and saw the king come to Christ and often mediated disputes between the locals. He was married with a few children that would be sent to school in England when they turned 8.

It was very hard but he persisted.

James Calvert died in 8-3-1892 but still to day Fijians thank him for his work.

And book 9 is a great introduction to the life of Corrie Ten Boom and all that happened during World War 2.
