Due to her parents? promise at her birth, Lady Rosemarie has been prepared to become a nun on the day she turns eighteen. Then, a month before her birthday, a friend of her father's enters the kingdom and proclaims her parents? will left a second choice?if Rosemarie can marry before the eve of her eighteenth year, she will be exempt from the ancient vow.
Before long, Rosemarie is presented with the three most handsome and brave knights in the land. But when the competition for her heart seemingly results in a knight playing foul, she begins to wonder if the cloister is the best place after all. If only one of the knights?the one who appears the most guilty?had not already captured her heart.
she rules with compassion, Lady Rosemarie questions whether life in a cloister is really the best choice for her life. She agrees to allow the three handsomest and noblest knights in the land the chance to win her heart in one month.
But as she struggles to make a choice between the three men, strange outbreaks of the Plague are killing off her poorest subjects with increasing numbers. Worry over her people soon turns into worry for the knights when it becomes clear that someone is endangering them and trying to put them out of the competition to win her heart.
As an evil presence undermines a blossoming love for one of the knights and threatens to destroy everything she holds dear, will Lady Rosemarie make the right choice?

Really enjoyed this book. Fast, flowing pace kept my interest throughout. Excited for the rest of the series.

A medieval mystery romance
This interesting historical love story contains action, danger and an element of mystery. Is Lady Rosemarie going to marry or join the convent? If so, who will she fall in love with? Who caused the poor to become sick? Who is behind the attacks on the knights? \\r\\nWith themes of compassion on the poor and knightly honour this story is an highly enjoyable read. The characters are likeable and the scenes are well written so that they are easy to imagine. I highly recommend this book!

Graphic but good
I enjoyed this story and the intrigue and romance it swept me along (so sweet!) but I will admit, it was quite gory in parts! That said, with a story set in medieval times like this one, it wouldn't be accurate if that was left out - and it definitely added to the story, even if it was nauseating. I liked the way the characters grew throughout it - from apologetic adolescents at the start to true rulers by the end. Well written and a great story for Young Adults but probably not everyone's cup of tea given the graphic torture scenes. \\r\\n
