    Good concept, poor content

This book has the terrific aim of summarising each book and chapter of the Bible as a guide for people who struggle to grasp it. Unfortunately, the way the author has summarised the Bible misses the point in a way that can mislead reader. For example, his summary of Galatians says that Paul was angry at the Galatians for trying to follow Old Testament law, when actually Paul is arguing for the truth of the gospel against trying to earn salvation by good works. Paul is not against the Old Testament law, but he is against earning salvation. Readers who know the Bible well will be less likely to be misled by this book, but will also be unlikely to benefit from it. Readers who are likely to benefit from this book's brevity are also likely to be misled by the content. The author should be commended for his goal, but unfortunately the content cannot be recommended.
