My aim in writing this book is to tell how I broke with a sexually active homosexual life, as well as the process of change I experienced after I left that life.??I wasn't seeking change; I wouldn't have thought change was possible until it began to happen in me. My experience has been that, as what I consider to be contributing factors of my homosexual condition were dealt with, a significant measure of change occurred in my sexuality. I am not saying this happens for all, but it has happened for me.??Over time many people have asked me how they can best help other Christians who struggle with unwatned same-sex attraction. So as well as my own story, I have included information about what one can do if they have a homosexual friend or relative.??My hope and prayer is that as you read this book you will cleary see the love, the gentleness, and the incredibly caring way in which God has worked in my life - a life that was very broken. I offer this book as a testimony to a love that is available to all, from a God who cares for all.

This compelling and thoughtfully written book describes one person's journey out of homosexuality. It is the author's own intimate story of personal transformation in the context of a loving relationship with God. Chris Keane writes with disarming honesty and compassion, as he acknowledges the damage done to the gay community by some sectors of the church, as well as the serious divisions within the Christian community over homosexuality. His book is a moving plea for greater understanding within both the church and the wider community. Choices will speak to anyone who is struggling with their sexual orientation, and is also essential reading for family, friends, and church communities who would like to better understand and love those with a homosexual orientation.

    Hope filled

Voices in the pro LGBT lobby are very strident. I like this book because it is written with a perspective of a man's whole life. It would have been discouraging if the story was told early on during a period of failure, and that seems to be where present-day anecdotes are coming from. The grace of God is very evident all through the book, Praise the Lord. It gives me hope for situations of my friends and family. This is a very valuable book that I recommend to anyone concerned about long-term effects of present attitudes.

A courageous call to grace and truth

We hear a lot of confusing messages about homosexuality. The Anglican Church worldwide remains in crisis over the issue. It is therefore so very refreshing to have a work that tells of one man's journey out of homosexuality in response to the grace of God in Christ. \\r\\nHere is a challenge to the New Covenant church to work through the implications of our mission. Chris doesn't pull any punches or water down the hard things that the Bible has to say. The difference is that he helps us understand how the Gospel works at a very personal level. \\r\\nThis is Chris's second book. In """"What Some of You Were"""" he shared the stories of others and gave us an insight into what is possible as the grace of the Gospel works its way in the lives of some very hurt people. Chris challenges us to make that grace widely available to those for whom homosexuality is an issue. This is a courageous book worthy of being read with a humble and teachable spirit.
