upon purchasing the dry highlighters i had high hopes that it would serve as a helpful utility tool by emphasising any parables and scriptures i found that resonated with me using this item. it seems to act as more of a crayon than an actual highlighter i'd be more accustomed to using, and somewhat of an expensive one at that. i don't own a particularly expensive bible, so i don't mind the pages being bled through with ink, and i would rather the pages were saturated with ink rather than creased with the amount of pressure that needs to be applied when using this item. maybe it could just be my bible and the qualitythickness of its pages, but i struggled to even leave a mark on the lines and the pages that i've used it on. different strokes for different folks, but i do find a standard highlighter from your local Officeworks to be much more effective. no complaint with the highlighter or the refills; i just found it wasn't for me or my personal preference. my only critisism is that it should be labelled as a crayon because that is essentially what it is, and not a highlighter as such.
