The unforgettable image of a young girl burnt by napalm fleeing for her life has become a defining image of the Vietnam War. This book is the true story of that girl, Kim Phuc, who endured years of mental and physical pain in the aftermath of her ordeal - and found the God of mercy and love in the process.
*Get out! Run! We must leave this place! They are going to destroy this whole place! Go, children, run first! Go now!*
These were the final shouts nine year-old Kim Phuc heard before her world dissolved into flames-before napalm bombs fell from the sky, burning away her clothing and searing deep into her skin. It's a moment forever captured, an iconic image that has come to define the horror and violence of the Vietnam War. Kim was left for dead in a morgue; no one expected her to survive the attack. Napalm meant fire, and fire meant death.
Against all odds, Kim lived-but her journey toward healing was only beginning. When the napalm bombs dropped, everything Kim knew and relied on exploded along with them: her home, her country's freedom, her childhood innocence and happiness. The coming years would be marked by excruciating treatments for her burns and unrelenting physical pain throughout her body, which were constant reminders of that terrible day. Kim survived the pain of her body ablaze, but how could she possibly survive the pain of her devastated soul?
*Fire Road* is the true story of how she found the answer in a God who suffered Himself; a Savior who truly understood and cared about the depths of her pain. *Fire Road* is a story of horror and hope, a harrowing tale of a life changed in an instant-and the power and resilience that can only be found in the power of God's mercy and love.

Fire Road: The Napalm Girl's Journey Through the Horrors of War to Faith, Forgiveness and Peace$25.99
This book was so insightful as to the insides of the Vietnam war and aftermath. It is written beautifully without lots of gore and horror, but with so much hope and redemption in Christ. It left me feeling inspired to overcome and to embrace the life given to me.

Incredible
It is amazing to hear of her experience and what she has been through. It was also great to hear of the story behind that picture! Her strong faith is encouraging! What a testament to the human spirit being taken from one life and thrust into another at such a young age. With all her pain and trials she comes out a loving, beautiful woman with a heart for God.

Amazing story with amazing hope
In an era where it is easy for people to indulge in the details of their own suffering - I was amazed my Kim Phuc Phan Thi. After suffering extraordinarily napalm burns in Vietnam, she is careful not to over describe her despair. In this book, I felt she clearly balanced the details of her personal suffering with the details of life around her, and the many other things that she went through in her life. This really is a fantastic story that moves from the struggles of a modest temple worship life in Vietnam, through an awful medical catastrophe under a tough regime, to the struggles of a modern christian life in Canada. She is respectful of both cultures and what shines through is her love of Christ and the salvation he brings and her love of scripture, which is peppered throughout the book. Very inspiring and well worth reading.

An excellent book worth reading
Review for Koorong by Jin Pian Tan\\r\\nFire Road by Kim Phuc Phan Thi is an inspiring book. When I got the book I thought it would be confined to the country, Vietnam , where the writer came from and assumed its view would be limited. However, I was wrong because her story of the napalm horror had gone viral through a photograph and the world knew of what she went through as an innocent child. \\r\\nShe was a napalm survivor by God's mercy. He sent the right people to help her. Everything she went through was so vividly portrayed that I couldn't put down the book. \\r\\nWhat spoke to me was how she had to endure great pain before she could know healing in the years she went through after her napalm experience. Her emotional, mental and spiritual struggles were so poignant. I was moved by the way she came to know Jesus as her Saviour and gave up her idol worship to find the peace she was searching for. I was encouraged by her sharing how her praying for her enemies included asking God to bless them. The result was real joy and peace with God. \\r\\nI strongly recommend this book to every reader who wants to know how to live an overcoming life\\r\\n
