Convoluted
I really like what the author was getting at but found the text convoluted. It was difficult to follow as an adult, and not pleasant to read aloud because the rhyme was quite clunky. The pictures were sweet but aimed at girls mostly, even though the idea of watering good character traits is relevant to all.
