This popular series of biographies from Youth With a Mission makes the great heritage of Christian heroism accessible to preteen readers. In an age when godly role models get little coverage, these books provide inspiring, wholesome stories of committed discipleship. Ages 10+.

"Christian Heroes: Then & Now have set a new standard of quality in Christian biography. These thrilling true adventures are the best-written biographies for ages 10 and up! Sustained by God's provision. George Muller's vision of caring for orphans grew to five large homes that ultimately over ten thousand children would call home (1805-1898).

    Struggled to stop reading

This is one of our prescribed books as part of school. The children didn't want me to put it down and kept asking for more chapters as they loved journeying with George through his trials and ordeals. The book does bring the characters to life. My audience varied from 9 to 17 in age.

    An Amazing Story

I love stories of missionaries, and this is one of the best! It is a story of faith, perserverance and God's redemptive grace. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good, challenging read.

    Enthralling!

This retell of George Muller's life is so enthralling and challenging. As an adult I loved reading this book and I have also read some of it aloud to my 6yr old son and he is very interested. I look forward to seeing my sons read this book for themselves in a few years. I think it would be suitable for readers over 8yrs of age to tackle on their own. I highly recommend this book if you want to be challenged to live out a life of real faith. It really has changed the way I see life.
