Like Me: A Story About Disability and Discovering God's Image in Every Person$27.99
This large colorful book is very nicely done. The pictures are interesting, the story of a boy's day from when he wakes up till he goes to sleep is well done. He has a younger brother who has disabilities, so they go to therapy, and sometimes the brother makes playing with friends frustrating, but the difficulties as dealt with well, and the reminder from the parents of God's love, that he made each of them unique and that he has good plans for them is well done. I didn't know what to expect, but I was enjoyably surprised by the gentle way all the topics were show and shared. My 5 year old son especially enjoyed it, and asked for it to be read again. We don't have family with disabilities, and so this was a great introduction about it, but it would also be a lovely one if you do have a child or close friend with disabilities. I also enjoyed how the front cover has bumps on it, it made it a nice sensory experience too - all the little details of this book are well thought out.
