    How to read books well

This book provides guidance for Christians on how to read books well. The book is divided into two sections, first one doctrinal and then practical. The author starts with theology of books, what I find helpful in this section is a worldview on reading non-Christian books, that we must not ignore the truths in them, but also be critical of the author's worldview. The second section focuses more on practical tips like how to read books well, how to find time to read, etc. The author also provides some recommendations on great books that he reads, from Christian to non-Christian books.

Excellent Reading about. . . reading

I've read several books on how to read, and this one is by far the most practical and accessible. Our generation is inundated with information in thousands of daily bite-size bombardments, but for the Christian, the inundation is of a different nature. Almost daily, we hear new ideas and terms foreign to us - for some it's because we are still understanding our faith intellectually, and for others it's that we know little else besides our faith, the 'big bad world'. Reading is imperative to growth and understanding, and this book helps to reveal weaknesses as well as help for our struggle to consume and enjoy reading. A must read. I get the irony.

A book on books. Love it!

This is the second book on reading books I've read - the first on Christian books. Reinke gives a lot of practical tips for both beginners and avid readers. If you hate books but you know you need to start reading, this book is for you. If you love books and want to read better (yes you can read better), this book is for you too. What I love more than the practical tips is when Reinke spends the first few chapters explaining the world of literature and on how today's culture shifts our perception on literature. Oh and he starts from the Bible too which is a bonus for me.
