small but packs a punch
For such a small book, this one packs a punch. The cross of Christ is a much written about topic, and one that we will never fully get to the depths of. But this book was written from a different perspective: God's perspective. Of course, it is good to see the cross from our perspective, because it is the heart of our faith. But looking at the cross from God's perspective is simply awesome. This book stretched my mind, captured my heart, and humbled me before the God who so graciously gave His Son as a subsitute for my sin, so that I could be given the righteousness of God, be welcomed into His presence, and have the joy of intimate communion with Him forevermore. \\r\\n\\r\\nI can't recommend this book more highly

Highly Recommended
What I love about Mahaney's books is that they are deep, biblical, yet practical. He always closes his books with practical aspect to apply the Word in our daily lives. This book is useful for us as it helps us realize that the main thing is to keep the main thing (the gospel) the main thing. Mahaney starts with expounding why the cross should define our lives, and proceeded to flesh out the benefits of the Cross for our lives, and ends with practical ways to show us what a cross centered life looks like. If you need a fresh perspective on God's love then this book is for you.
