Luke 12-24 For You (God's Word For You Series)

Both part 1 & 2 of McKinley's 'Luke For You' should be considered as a gift for any brother and sister in Christ. I have found them both excellent for morning devotions after reading the passage of scripture allocated to each chapter first. Each chapter has a part 1 & 2 for each passage of scripture and can be easily approached in smaller parts using the subheadings in the chapters. Excellent for a great start to scripture each day and can be followed up with a good time in prayer. A great glossary or terms explained as well as McKinley's faithfulness to the Gospel in every part of the word! The entire series has been excellent thus far. High recommend.

The 'For You' series by the Good Book Company are a well needed addition to the 'commentary world'. The target audience for this series is the everyday Christian, who is looking to know and love God more, and these books provide - truly meeting their slogan as a book to 'read, feed and lead'. Whilst there are other books out there written for this purpose, these books are written by an array of pastors and theologians, some well known names such as Tim Keller and Tim Chester, and some lesser known, but all with a passion for the gospel and a great ability to be able to communicate the meaning and application of God's word. This series is one I highly recommend as an addition to your regular Bible reading. \\r\\n\\r\\nLuke 12-24 For You follows on from Mike McKinley's book on the first half of Luke, and thus looks at many of Jesus' interactions with his disciples, the crowds and the religious leaders of his time in the lead up to his death and resurrection. Mike walks us through Jesus' parables and helps us apply them to our own understanding of God and how we are to be living our lives in response to God's love for us. Luke for you contains the necessary exposition, explanation and application of Luke and is a great book for daily Bible study or for preparation of leading small group discussion.
