    Inspirational

God has been using this lady’s books in my life and I’m just in awe. This book has been exactly what I needed exactly when I needed it.

Lincoln is realizing that the fake life he has been leading, centered on self, isn’t fulfilling.

Jackie, the friend that has it all calmly figured out, is fixated on her rules, her routine and throws herself into work. She doesn’t need a man to complete her. Though the basis for her belief is true, God has something even better in store for her. But she can’t see beyond the facade of both Lincoln and her own protective walls.

Though parts of this may feel like a really good hallmark story, it dives deeper into the battle within and letting God direct our paths. It’s probably one of my absolute favorites from Carolyn Miller.

The little reminders in the book may be simple but sometimes I feel like I need slapped upside the head with simple to get my attention.

—-“It’s one thing to read your Bible,” Joel had said. “It’s another to do what it says. So when you’re quiet, and actively listening for what God might be trying to say, you can be sure it won’t be the opposite of what God says to do in His word. ”

—-“…and yet you’re so cool and collected. ” “I’m a duck, paddling madly underneath the surface. ”
