A Good *Devotional* Bible.
I've been working out of this Bible for just over a month now. I bought it because I was looking for a study Bible, but I don't feel that this really fits the bill.
It's a very pretty Bible. The colours are vibrant and cheerful and the printing is crisp. Though it's a paperback, the cover has held up to regular use without any major mishaps. The interior design is as vibrant as the cover, and the books are colour-coded. Just a look at the side of the closed Bible and you can see a rainbow of colours that signify the sections of the Bible - for example, the Pentateuch books are light green and History is a faint yellow. This colour theme moves through Poetry & Wisdom, Prophets, Gospels & Acts, Letters of Paul and Other Letters.
Each page of scripture has devotional section that takes up the bottom quarter of the page. This section focuses on four points: Pray, Observe, Interpret and Apply. Scripture pages have a 3. 5cm lined notes section and every odd numbered page has a ""listen to the Word"" devotional note that takes up a third of the notes section.
Interspersed between Scripture are whole page profiles of ""Courageous Women. ""
Each book of the Bible is introduced by a page detailing who wrote it and when (if known), who the intended audience was, and various other useful information including an outline of the main themes of the book. A timeline is also included. This is incredibly helpful.
