North! Or Be Eaten (#02 in The Wingfeather Saga Series)$22.99
While I found this book difficult to read (due to so much going on and the storyline jumping around a lot), my tween daughters absolutely love it. They’ve both read it (and the rest of the series) multiple times and are utterly captivated by it. Definitely aimed at that 10-14yo age group (depending on the reader) with crazy creatures, grand adventures, short chapters, cute illustrations and themes of family, friendship, loyalty and faith. Brilliantly written though, so if you’re looking for a grand adventure series with deep faith elements (but not preachy at all) for your tween, definitely check this one out. My kids recommend it to everyone.

A masterpiece of dark and light
I am a huge fan of this series, the characters are real and well fleshed out. The twists and turns of the plot continues to keep you guessing- how will they get out of this now? Will Gnag the Nameless finally defeat them? But like all good stories you know that things will turn out in the end. The challenge is seeing through the dark patches. Particularly in this book there is a period that was very hard to read due to the dark-ness of it. I wont give it away but if you persist there will eventually be light shed to dispel the dark.
