    A fun fantasy adventure.

I enjoyed this second installment of the Medoran Chronicles. We are back with Alex for a second year at Akarnae. If Alex thought she would get a quieter and less adventurous year than the previous one, she is mistaken. Aven is still hunting her down - he is so menacing and cold, I would not want him as my enemy! And Alex is still learning just what she is capable of. Poor Alex is thrown into so many situations she does not want to be in! I like how she handles things with sass and humour.

There where some situations where I was thinking 'how is this allowed to happen?' *cough* SAS camping trip *cough*, or I wondered how Alex was capable of doing certain things, but Noni eventually explains the how and why and I was happy with the explanation.

One disappointing thing was that the library featured less in this compared to book one.

I love the friendship aspect of this book. I love how the two boys she is friends with aren't romantically interested in Alex and their friendships are remaining that way. We also got to know D. C better in this book and I liked her character much better in this installment.

My favourite part of this book were all the sweet scenes between Alex and Kaiden. A hint at a future romance perhaps?

Then there is the ending. The ending will make you want to go and read book three straight away so you might want to have it on hand if possible.

Overall, Raelia was a fun and exciting fantasy read that can be enjoyed by all teens and adults. The content is…

    Incredible!

This is the second book in the series (and Alex's second year at Akarnae Academy), and follows on directly from where the first book finishes. I loved the theme of crossroads and choices, and how important those moments are. So beautiful and challenging at the same time. Absolutely love this series!\\n\\nFrom first page to last, I was absolutely captivated. The writing, the diverse and amazingly developed characters, the plot twists that were so unexpected yet so perfectly set up that I wondered how I could have not seen them coming, dragons, prophecies, multiple worlds, time travel, best friends, challenges, slow burn romance, choices, faith, powerful dark v light imagery. . . \\n\\nIf you enjoy fantasy, amazing world-building, detailed characters, Harry Potter, X-Men, or anything along those lines, definitely run out and find this series! It was AMAZING! And yes, I'm trying very hard to pace myself and not read it all over again right away. \\n\\nSix stars. Or maybe seven. Would 10/5 be too many? \\n
