When 13-year-old Olive Oatman's wagon train is raided by outlaw Yavapai Indians, she and her sister are captured. After enduring harsh treatment, they are ransomed by a band of Mohaves. Olive struggles to adjust to her new life, but finds comfort in her faith and in an unexpected friendship. When the time comes for her to return to the white world, she is afraid she will never fit in. But she learns to see the Mohave design tattooed on her chin as a sign of God's love and deliverance, a mark of ransom.

DAUGHTERS OF THE FAITH: These genuine, heart-warming stories are based upon the experiences of four young girls who trusted God. Meet Mary Chilton, who travelled to America on the Mayflower, Harriet Tubman, a slave born on a Maryland plantation in the 1800s, Olive Oatman, a pioneer raised by Indians, and Mary Bunyan, the blind daughter of John Bunyan.

    Great Book

I LOVE this book. I felt like I was there along with the Oatmans when I read it. I like how Mrs. Oatman keeps on taking slips of her lilac bush with her wherever she goes. I love books set a long time ago. It is very educational about what life was like a long time ago for both Americans and American Indians. I also love how there is a dictionary at the back of the book. I hope this is helpful and enjoy this book as much as I did. :)
