Revelation - Apocalypse Now and Then (Reading The Bible Today Series)$22.99
Reading Bible Today series is meant to be less jargon free easy to read commentary series. This new format is repackaged and is attractively set and whilst can't be said that easy to read and jargon free, is definitely a lot easier for the Bible student than heavier alternatives. \\r\\n\\r\\nThis book is not THE acceptable commentary. This book should only be read as to obtain a different perspective. Whilst the author may have termed the book simple to read, it is in many ways too simplistic. For me it felt the commentary was a personal interpretation instead of a contextual one. I say this because the author favoured preterist and historical interpretations at the expense of a large number of OT scriptures that contradict figurative and historical interpretations. The Apostle John was a Jewish man not Greek and regardless of writing in Greek he expressed Jewish thoughts which certainly were not philosophical like the Greco-Romans. Some good points, great for alternative views but certainly not to be accepted as the FINALLY the truth!

Helpful guide through Revelation
This is a short, understandable guide to the Book of Revelation. Cutting through the fog of fanciful speculation, Barnett distils the main message of Revelation passage by passage. He has a longer introduction at the start, clearing up misunderstandings with interpretation and a useful summary of the significance of numbers in Revelation. Highly recommended.
