The liberals are pushing their agenda and doing it strategically. Have we thought through how CRT, LGBT+, ‘equality’, racial reconciliation, abuse-affirming/trauma-informed reforms, etc. are spreading through the evangelical church?
We need to be shrewd because the World is. They are targeting Christians and purposefully manipulating. What went into the swing in Christian institutions from Christianity Today to The Gospel Coalition towards woke ideologies? How about our Bible colleges?
Megan Basham writes about some of how this is happening in America and I think it is a good warning for all of us. We should also consider it well and look closer at what is happening in our own country.
The way we deal with abuse seems like a less dangerous change. And in some ways this is true. We want to deal with sin, protect the vulnerable, and bring justice in these situations. However there is a push for victim mentality. For assuming the guilt of an accused abuser unless proven otherwise rather than following due process. Abuse is real but not everything is abuse and claims need to be investigated and actual evidence examined. How are Christian institutions and denominations approaching this? Are the processes biblical? It is hard to touch on this briefly due to the complex nature of every case but Megan does a good job of taking both the reality of abuse and dangers of the “church too” movement into account.
