    Another fun read

Really enjoyed this one -- the way Rapunzel begins to see that her mother is not right about everything, and that God is her true protector was very interesting. A bit of a different feel to the others as Rapunzel is (at the beginning) an outsider looking in on the family we've come to know an love throughout the series. Love the way the characters grow their faith and understanding of the Lord, and the way the events happen at the same time as the previous book was super new and fun.

    A Creative and Realistic Retelling

All of Melanie's works are written in such a way to portray great spiritual insight and this tale is no different. It is a beautiful retelling of the Rapunzel story with lots of twists along the way and a daring rescue (of course) that was only made possible with God's leading. Though it seemed impossible at the time with all odds stacked against our daring hero, in the end, he realised that the only way to find Rapunzel was to rely on God's leading. Rapunzel on the other hand, could only rely on faith and prayer in order to escape and God came through for her in the end. I loved this all the way to the end!

    Captivating!

I enjoyed this retelling of the Rapunzel story, even more so because of the way it intertwined with the other 'fairytales' (previous books in this series) I'd already read by this author. While it could easily be read and appreciated as a standalone book, it means so much more having read the others. Like them, the story was sweet and the setting so well-written that it felt like being transported back to the middle ages. I also loved how I was still surprised at different points of the story (plot twist!), even though it was the retelling of a fairytale I already knew so well. Melanie Dickerson is an amazing writer!
