I have never met a person whose goal was to ruin his or her life. We all want to be happy, and we want it all of the time."??So begins James Bryan Smith in ***The Good and Beautiful Life.*** The problem is, he tells us, we have bought into false notions of happiness and success. These self-centered decisions lead us further into the vices that cause ruin: anger, lust, lying, worry and judging. Eventually we find ourselves living a beautifully packaged life of self-destruction.* Includes questions for individual reflection and processing embedded in the text * ?Inclues content for small group discussion at the end of each chapter. * ?Each chapter includes a description of a suggested companion spiritual practice * ?Includes twelve weeks of material for small groups plus an introductory week

??Following the Sermon on the Mount, this follow-up to *The Good and Beautiful* God guides us to look behind these character flaws and to replace our false beliefs with Jesus' narratives about life in the kingdom of God.

Great application of Sermon on the Mount

This is the second book in the Apprentice series that the author has written. This book is based on Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, the author started with expounding The Beatitudes, then the rest of the book is a great exposition on the Sermon on the Mount and cover topics such as Anger, Lust, Lying, etc. The good thing about each chapter is that the author exposes the false narratives that we have about the topic from the church / secular views, and then he expounded the true narrative according to the Bible. Each chapter ends with practical application that we can do (he called it """"Soul Training""""), which is very helpful, so we learn to apply the word in our lives.
