    Compelling & definitely worth reading

The arguments put forward in this book regarding the meaning of Genesis 1 are very compelling. I had never considered this approach to the reading, that Genesis 1 can be read literally without necessarily ignoring or rejecting whatever current scientific explanation of material origins there happens to be. I would highly recommend for anyone struggling to reconcile science with their understanding of Genesis.

Essential for anyone interested in the origins conversation

This book is a very important contribution to the origins of the earth debate, touching on big questions like """"How old is the Earth?"""" and """"What is Genesis 1 actually saying?"""" Walton is an expert on the culture and times of ancient Israel (see his other works), and uses this knowledge to explain clearly and succinctly the revolutionary truths in the explosive start of the Bible. I highly recommend this one.
