The Promises of God Bible Storybook

This book contains fifty-two Bible stories that range from the Creation Story, to Noah's Ark to the New Heaven which is spoken of in the book of Revelation. Amazing illustrations by Thanos Tsilis fill every page while the end of each account have a few things to think about. These are a retelling of the narratives, not the Biblical text, but the core messages remain true. For instance, the book relates that no one can stop God's plans when speaking of baby Moses being abandoned in a basket, or explaining what haste meant after the shepherds hear angels sing of Jesus' birth. This extra information brings the stories alive and more easily understood by young readers. \\nIt is bound beautifully with the night sky featured on the cover with embellishments that make the stars appear to shine. Running throughout the book is an emphasis on the promises and love God has for us all. I really love this book; it was so carefully done with kids in mind. The promises of God storybook bible is a nicely illustrated children's story bible. It is a lovely sturdy hardcover and the pages are strong and glossy. There are 52 stories, each about 3 full page spreads. There is a reasonable amount of writing, so probably not recommended for children younger than 4 years old. Each story relates to a promise of God and ends with four questions about the story. \\nI really like how this book is written, there are some great biblical truths shared, as well as a very clear theme of God's love and goodness too. There is a great prologue that explains who God is, the trinity, etc. and that He knows everything, including the future and that He is in control of it all. Then the first story starts like this: """"Once upon a time, there actually wasn't time. There was only God. He has been God since before there was time. In fact, He made time! He made everything. It happened like this. . . """" \\nThis book does a great job showing how almighty God is, and our human weaknesses. When dealing with God asking Adam if he had eaten the forbidden fruit it says """". . . God always knows the answers to the questions He asks us, but He gives us a chance to give an answer that will show how we feel about what we did. But Adam didn't tell the truth or ask for forgiveness or say how sorry he was. No, that's not what he did at all. He blamed Eve, and then Eve blamed the snake.
