Julie Klassen Is the Top Name in Inspirational regency Romance
Abigail Foster fears she will end up a spinster, especially as she has little dowry to improve her charms and the one man she thought might marry her--a longtime friend--has fallen for her younger, prettier sister.
When financial problems force her family to sell their London home, a strange solicitor arrives with an astounding offer: the use of a distant manor house abandoned for eighteen years. The Fosters journey to imposing Pembrooke Park and are startled to find it entombed as it was abruptly left: tea cups encrusted with dry tea, moth-eaten clothes in wardrobes, a doll's house left mid-play . . .
The handsome local curate welcomes them, but though he and his family seem to know something about the manor's past, the only information they offer Abigail is a warning: Beware trespassers who may be drawn by rumors that Pembrooke contains a secret room filled with treasure.
Hoping to improve her family's financial situation, Abigail surreptitiously searches for the hidden room, but the arrival of anonymous letters addressed to her, with clues about the room and the past, bring discoveries even more startling. As secrets come to light, will Abigail find the treasure and love she seeks...or very real danger?

This book was the perfect combination between mystery and excitable romance. Klassen has always successfully written on love and faith and does it again. Would recommend for anyone wanting a book that they can't put down.

Well written!
I really enjoyed this book and would've loved if the author decided to continue the series on in a trilogy. It was a great Christian romance mystery. It's well written with great twists and turns and very intriguing! As much as I enjoyed the book however, a few of the comments and actions of both Abigail and William (two of the main characters) were confusing to the Christian genre of the book and what would be considered """"proper"""" for the day. Apart from this, I'd still recommend it.

an engaging Regency mystery
I was expecting this to be a sweet, Regency romance, so I was a bit surprised when it turned out to be a rather almost-detective style mystery as Abigail investigates the rather sinister secrets hidden in her new home. But there is plenty of sweet Regency romance, too! I really enjoyed this novel and look forward to reading more by Julie Klassen.

Regency Intrigue
This was a great book, though not one I'd recommend reading late at night or in a creaky house. . . unless, of course, you enjoy the thrill of jumping at every little sound and wondering whether that shadow that just passed your window was a murderer. . . I really enjoyed the characters and the way they dealt with the challenges they faced, with a few minor sermons along the way (which fitted, since the hero is a pastor). \\r\\n\\r\\nJulie Klassen is a brilliant author and reading her books feels like you truly have been transported to the halls of London and its intrigues - which is either good or bad depending on whether you enjoy suspense or not! This book certainly had me captivated until the end, and guessing all the way as I tried to figure out the mysteries amongst the rumours. \\r\\n\\r\\nAn incredibly well-written book, filled with historical facts and not-too-fictitious characters. But again, with murderers, secret rooms and treasure hunters who'll stop at nothing - not everyone's cup of tea. \\r\\n
