This was a unique book that looks deeper into the accounts of 12 women throughout the Bible. I found it easy to read & understand. It looked at the historical & social context, compared it to other, related, scripture, & explained more fully how events would’ve affected that particular woman. It painted a picture that made these women more relatable to me. At times we’re all guilty of judging the people in the Bible & believe we could’ve acted better. This book helped me see some fresh perspectives, extend compassion & grace, & marvel at their challenges.
I found the chapters on some of the old testament women to be most interesting: Eve, Sarah, Rahab, & Ruth in particular. I’d read those again.

Informative and challenging
I loved reading this book and learning about the lives of these chosen women. God has chosen us too and we are equally ordinary. But our God is extraordinary and that's where the difference lies. With the power of the Holy Spirit living inside us we can live extraordinary lives too. Thanks John MacArthur!

Somewhat disappointing
I was somewhat disappointed in this book. \\r\\nI brought it thinking that I would learn more about the women of the Bible and how important their roles were- considering I hear from many who assume that women are not valued in Christianity. \\r\\nHowever, whilst there was certainly information on the women featured, the book did not seem to highlight what made them extraordinary , and at times seemed to focus on negative qualities. \\r\\n\\r\\nI recommend if you want more information on the women featured, but not if you are seeking what I was.
