    a diplomatic romance

Set in America and in Germany this early WWI novel was a peek into embassy life. I appreciated the character growth while learning about different perspectives and personalities. A bitter-sweet ending in my opinion but still a good one. I didn't realise this was part of a series, so it can be a stand alone as I didn't feel I was missing any information.
