After tragedy strikes, the man who broke her heart years before is back in Catherine Winthrop's life. Jonathan Carlew, who has never gotten over Catherine, has come into a title and land, and now these two wayward hearts must choose between past bitterness and forgiveness.

"A touching, charming tale of love won and lost and won again... . Brings the Regency period to vivid life."

Years ago, the man who stole Catherine Winthrop's heart rejected her--and she's never recovered from the grief. Now tragedy has brought him back into her life. This time it isn't her heart he's taking, it's her home and her family's good name.

Jonathan Carlew's serious demeanor and connection to trade, not to mention the rumors surrounding his birth, have kept him from being a favorite of the ladies, or their parents. Now, suddenly landed and titled, he finds himself with plenty of prospects. But his demanding society responsibilities keep pressing him into service to the one woman who captured his heart long ago--and then ran off with it.

These two broken hearts must decide whether their painful past and bitter present will be all they can share, or if forgiveness can provide a path to freedom for the future.

Set in the sumptuous salons of Bath, Regency England's royal breeding ground for gossip, *Winning Miss Winthrop* is the first volume in the Regency Brides: A Promise of Hope series. Fans of the wholesome and richly drawn first series won't want to miss this new set of characters--or appearances by their old favorites.

"Fans of Christian Regency romances by Sarah Ladd, Sarah Eden, and Michelle Griep will adore Carolyn Miller's books!"
--Dawn Crandall, award-winning author of The Everstone Chronicles

    A delight to read

An enthralling and captivating novel of drama, romance, courage and hope. The Author has captured the lives of Catherine and Jonathan through this realistic and interesting storyline brilliantly. It is a wonderfully written historical regency novel with very interesting characters of a bygone era. Thoroughly enjoyed the journey this book took me on. Was a delight to read.

    Inspiring and tantalising

The words are skilfully crafted for humour, for grief, for tragedy and for suspense. True to Regency tradition, there is an impossibly unfortunate mother along side a helpful aunt. There are good neighbours and not so good, other suitors and the one and only. \\n\\nSet in 1816, the year without a summer, Jonathan Carlew Lord Winthrop is back from India with a fortune and ready to settle down. In a plot reminiscent of Jane Austin's PERSUASION, young love denied is reinstated at the crucial moment. Joy triumphs over tribulation. Catherine Winthrop's sister Serena and Jonathan's sister Julia are introduced to whet the appetite for two more """"Regency Brides Promise Of Hope"""" stories. \\n\\nThe cover is arresting, font size good and Scripture quotes used appropriately. I liked this book very much and will continue to give Carolyn Miller's books to my daughters and granddaughters.

    enjoyable, but predictable

While I enjoyed this novel, I found the plot a bit predictable to be really engaging.

    Fabulous Book

So good! I was so excited when I found out there was a second trilogy. This next trilogy is a as good as the first. Though all her books have completely different story lines they are all fantastic! Though it may be a new trilogy characters from the previous books feature in this next trilogy which joins them really nicely. I will definitely be re-reading all of Carolyn's books over and over!

    Beautiful New Series

I was slightly hesitant in reading this new series, as I had fallen in love with the characters in """"A Legacy of Grace"""". . . . however there was no reason to be! Miss Lavinia shows up enough to feel that your friends are still around, and her friends become your friends. Catherine is a delightful new acquaintance, and my heart bled for her as she struggled with the effects of her father's death. A wonderful read. . . I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!
