After a summer of successful pirate-treasure hunting, Lady Emily Scofield and her friends must hide the unprecedented discoveries they've made, thanks to the betrayal of her own family. Horrified by her brother, who will stop at nothing to prove himself to their greedy father, Emily is forced to take a stand against her family--even if it means being cut off entirely.

Bram Sinclair, Earl of Telford, is fascinated with tales of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table--an interest he's kept mostly hidden for the last decade. But when a diary is unearthed on the islands that could lead to a secret artifact, Bram is the only one able to piece the legends together.

As Bram and Emily seek out the whereabouts of the hidden artifact, they must dodge her family and a team of archaeologists. In a race against time, it is up to them to decide what makes a hero worthy of legend. Is it fighting valiantly to claim the treasure ... or sacrificing everything in the name of selfless love?

    Really enjoyable

I really enjoyed reading this book and was so sad that it was the last in the series. I loved learning more about the mystery of the Scillies, and seeing the relationship between Bram and Emily unfold. I would definitely recommend this book.

    Beautiful

I have loved this series and learning (absolutely being immersed in!) the Scilly Isles and the secrets they hold. Including, in this one, King Arthur and all the legends that come with him (so fascinating!). Roseanna writes the most incredible stories about characters that just jump off the page and into your heart. This one was no different. Lady Emily hasn't had an easy life, being hurt time and time again by her family, which made this, at times, a difficult read as she struggled with the repercussions of that. But I loved how the author worked through that, really delving deep into themes of value and grace and what it really means to love when you might not get anything in return. Truly beautiful and a story that will stick with me for a really long time. Fun, deep, entertaining, heart-warming, adventure-filled, challenging, so super romantic. . . Sad to see this amazing series end. Although it definitely ended well. Highly recommend! (But would definitely recommend starting with Book One)

    loved it

Firstly, I would advise reading this book as part of the series - I had forgotten much of the first book, and skipped the second, and as a result I was scrambling to make sense of the rather vast array of characters. Roseanna White's writing style is perfect as always: she somehow brings to life characters and scenes that are so vivid and real, with a really strong Christian theme that is central to the plot. I absolutely loved the romance between Emily and Telford: I really liked how neither of them are perfect, yet God works through each of them as they help each other on their journey to Him. I had no knowledge of the Scilly Isles before reading this series, but now they are added to my 'list of places I want to visit one day'!

King Arthur, romance, and religion - a fun mix

I really enjoyed the main characters. Lord Telford and Emily are fun and sweet. I've always liked King Arthur tales, so that really appealed to me. Lord Telford's quirks and dialogue were a lot of fun, as were the moments he got embarrassed. Emily was nice. The way she viewed her family was an interesting challenge, as was her continued quest to offer mercy and love to them. That really made me stop and think about how I view others and show God's love to them. Can't say I completely agree with Emily, but I did enjoy the spiritual challenges and questions discussed in the book. As in the other books, there was a third POV, the maid. It was almost a rehash of the maid in book 2's plot, and it seemed a bit cliche that everyone ended up with someone at the end of the series. Two happy endings per book makes for 6 people all marrying people they know. Seems a bit farfetched, but I still liked the series. Also, I liked the maid in this book much better than book 2. The maid's plot is a bit more serious, but at least she doesn't overtake the main couple like the maids in book 1 and 2. I thought it a better balance between the main couple and the secondary character of the maid. There is a very small forth POV as in the other books. It only occurs in the Prologue and sets up the mystery they solve in the rest of the book. In summary I enjoyed reading this book about King Arthur tales mixed with romance and religion. This is probably best read as a series.

A King Arthur treasure hunt with a more meaningful end

As I have not read the first 2 in this series it took me a while to grasp all of the characters relationships. Emily and Briggs had my instant interest. I'm not a fan of the treasure hunt plot, nor King Arthur legends, however that was merely the catalyst for the more important lessons of God's mercy and people's choices. I appreciated the different viewpoints on pain and how people deal with it. Good real-life lessons and 2 sweet romances and me reading this in one sitting.
