John Wesley
John Wesley (1703–1791) was an English Anglican minister, theologian, preacher, and leading figure in the eighteenth-century evangelical revival. Together with his brother Charles, he played a central role in the development of Methodism, travelling widely to preach and organise Christian societies throughout Britain. Wesley wrote extensively on salvation, grace, holiness, discipleship, and practical Christian living, placing particular emphasis on personal faith expressed through love and obedience. His sermons, journals, and theological writings continue to shape Wesleyan and Methodist traditions worldwide. Works such as A Plain Account of Christian Perfection reflect his enduring concern for spiritual growth and wholehearted devotion to God.
