    A one sitting read

This historical romance sucked me in from the very beginning. I love characters who have depth and feeling. Rose is a woman with a hurtful past that she hasn't let go of. John is a family man without one of his own. I liked the way they met and the conversations that ensued. The different storylines were well paced and it was nice to hear familiar names from the previous book. Dealing with the past and making a future that included some hard things was well done.
