The Porn Problem (Talking Points Series)

What is remarkable about this book, despite its brevity, is that it remains scriptural to the core and seeks to address not only why believers are susceptible to the sin of pornography, but how one must think about their relationship to Christ in addressing and overcoming it. This is not a book that cites Scripture as if it were data and heap on the guilt that many have in wrestling this problem, but rather, applies Scripture to the redeemed yet sinful bodies we all live in and explains how Christ's life and death has ensured that we are no longer slaves to sin but to Him and therefore, free. There are some exceptional powerful statements in how Christ died for our pornographic sins - as did He all our sins - and affirms that programs will not help those suffering with these sins, but the ever sufficient grace and person of Jesus Christ. A must read!

This short book does an excellent job of framing the problem of pornography within the theological context of God's design for human sexuality. Even more importantly it uses the issue as an opportunity to speak of the gospel of grace and point people to the Lord Jesus. The book therefore feels wise and gracious rather than guilt and fear-inducing.
