Though Magnus MacLeish and Lark MacDougall grew up on the same castle grounds, Magnus is now laird of the great house and the Isle of Kerrera. Lark is but the keeper of his bees and the woman he is hoping will provide a tincture that might help his ailing wife...

Though Magnus MacLeish and Lark MacDougall grew up on the same castle grounds, Magnus is now laird of the great house and the Isle of Kerrera. Lark is but the keeper of his bees and the woman he is hoping will provide a tincture that might help his ailing wife conceive and bear him an heir. But when his wife dies suddenly, Magnus and Lark find themselves caught up in a whirlwind of accusations, expelled from their beloved island, and sold as indentured servants across the Atlantic. Yet even when all hope seems dashed against the rocky coastline of the Virginia colony, it may be that in this New World the two of them could make a new beginning--together.

Laura Frantz's prose sparkles with authenticity and deep feeling as she digs into her own family history to share this breathless tale of love, exile, and courage in Colonial America.

    A Compelling Love Story

A great compelling historical novel. Right from the start I was captivated by the lives of of Magnus and Lark and the journey their love story takes you on. Each character is detailed, interesting and very realistic, which makes for a very interesting read. The author has written to capture your imagination and heart as she tells the story of the drama people faced living in wealth, being barren, living in poverty, being a slave and crossing the seas as slaves to another country. This is also a heartwarming love story that includes a special character Larkin. To add more dimension to this novel, the author has wonderfully blended historical facts and scripture into this novel. It is a moving story of love, redemption and hope, and keeps you interested.

    beautiful

This is the first book I've read by Laura Frantz, but it definitely won't be my last! It is beautifully written - from the very first page, my imagination was transported to the lush green island in Scotland, with characters who came to life from the first moment. The plot is wonderfully engaging, with twists and turns that genuinely kept me guessing. And the 'Christian theme' was well written and embedded in the story. If you enjoy well-crafted historical novels, then this is for you!

    Good Reading

Wow! I bought this ebook as it looked like great value for money and I had read Laura Frantz books in the past and found them terrific. I was not disappointed. """"A Bound Heart"""" is a really good read and Laura Frantz proves herself to be one of those authors you can trust to make the time spent reading worthwhile. I love how she weaves scripture throughout her work.
