    engaging

I was a little disappointed with the plot in this novel, as it followed a 'formula' that has been done to death already: """"heroine has a deep, dark secret that she chooses not to tell to her hero, but of course it eventually comes out and threatens to ruin everything. . . """". However, I still was really engaged in the story, always wanting to read 'one more chapter'! I wouldn't say it is really historically accurate, as the characters seem to behave and talk more like 21st centaury folk. If you enjoy authors like Tracie Peterson and Susan Anne Mason, then you should like this one!

    riveting

This is the first time I've read one of Tamera Alexander's books. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of seeing how one young women who had suffered from the loss of her mother and whose father didn't love her as he should but treated her unlawfully, could have the strength to seek to start a new life for herself and finding new love as a result.

    Great Suspense

I loved the way the author kept the suspense tight until the very last minute. And I appreciated the many 'strong' female characters. I hope Williston gets his wish!

    Gripping story

I found this to be a gripping story with great imagery. However, I felt that the ending was a bit rushed as it wasn't as detailed as the rest of the story. This was a bit disappointing, but overall I still really enjoyed it and will read the next one in the series.
