    Rich Theology

What an exceptional resource! I put off purchasing this book because of the price and it being shrink wrapped in store. My husband purchased it as a surprise present and it is such a rich theological treaty which did not disappoint! This collection is a rich treasure to the believer's soul. Highly recommend this resource!

    Amazing.

This is possibly my favourite book I have bought. It has already been so beneficial and I'm only scratching the surface of it.

    A guided way in

Puritan thought and writing is rich, but often overwhelming in its sheer volume. This book is excellent for giving filtered and guided insight into Puritan thought on various doctrinal categories. \\r\\nAs such this is to be received as an historical theology in systematic categories, rather than a systematic theology synthesising biblical data. The Puritans are well worth listening to though!

    Manna for the Soul

The re-discovery of the Puritans is a tremendous blessing for the Church. If you wish to be challenged spiritually, then this book is for you. The Puritans present a warm practical theology that will refresh your soul.

A great introduction to the Puritans

Firstly, this tome is more an introduction to Puritan thought than a systematic theology. It is organised like a systematic theology but I don't think you could really call it one. A huge variety of Puritans are cited throughout - it is clear that the authors know their stuff and who to cite. Many books like this suffer from irritating comments from the authors to string together quotes, but this book it different - the authors' comments are clear and appropriate and give summarising information on what the cited Puritan thought, which is a refreshing change. Many people will find this helpful for the way it summarises many of the things the Puritans got right (the chapter on meditation draws from many Puritan writings and pulls together many threads). On the other hand, in areas like Eschatology, the chapters are most useful as historical theology (you are unlikely to find a postmillennialist around these days but many Puritans were). Pricey but worth the price - a great introduction to the Puritans.
