If Betraying Her Heart Means Saving Countless Lives, Will She Find the Courage?

Willa Forsythe is both a violin prodigy and top-notch thief, which makes her the perfect choice for a critical task at the outset of World War I--to secure a crucial cypher key from a famous violinist currently in Wales.

Lukas De Wilde has enjoyed the life of fame he's won--until now, when being recognized nearly gets him killed. Everyone wants the key to his father's work as a cryptologist. And Lukas fears that his mother and sister, who have vanished in the wake of the German invasion of Belgium, will pay the price. The only distraction he finds from his worry is in meeting the intriguing and talented Willa Forsythe.

But danger presses in from every side, and Willa knows what Lukas doesn't--that she must betray him and find that key, or her own family could pay the same price his surely has.

"I enjoyed this inspirational romance, and the author's depiction of Lukas and Willa's journey to greater faith and love. All White's characters show real humanity, and her depiction of Lukas's young sister is particularly sympathetic. The era, the early days of WWI, is convincingly portrayed. Recommended, especially for lovers of sweet romances and/or inspirational reads."--Historical Novels Review

"A beautifully written romance with plenty of suspense."--Library Journal

    A great book

Roseanna pulls you in until the people and the places in the book are pulsing with life and colour. Loved the spiritual journeys in this book and the addition of Lukas' little sister's POV. The real people and places were also very interesting and nice touches, although I would have liked to have known the Davies sisters were real before I read the book instead of after. Foreknowledge increases my enjoyment, but they were nice even before I knew they were real. Loved the interaction between the siblings, especially the gentle introduction of Willa's brother who features in the next book. If you fall in love with Lukas' little sister in this story, she gets her own story in the Codebreakers Series. I'm looking forward to reading that and hopefully running into a few people from this series that have become like old friends.

    Grippingly beautiful

I'm not usually a fan of books set amidst wars but this book just totally captivated me from start to finish. It probably helped that I'd already fallen in love with Willa in the previous book in the series but I just loved her story. She's so strong, so determined, yet also a broken child searching for love but certain she doesn't deserve it. Brilliantly written, so much so that it feels as if you've been transported back in time just reading it. Highly recommend it.

    Excellent Christian historical romantic suspense

A Song Unheard is a brilliant combination of romance and suspense in a unique historical setting-London, Aberystwyth, and Belguim. I lived in London for ten years, so I love reading books set there (perhaps this is why I like Regency romance, because most are set in and around central London). I haven't read any other books set in Aberystwyth, which is where I was born (although I've never lived there). It was great to see the city through the eyes of Willa and Lukas. \\r\\n\\r\\nI was especially impressed by the research. I'd never heard of the Davies sisters and their World War One Belgian orchestra, so this was a fascinating plot device (yes, they were a real thing. I wonder if any of my Welsh relatives attended their concerts?). I've always been fascinated by codes and cyphers, so this element intrigued me, especially the connection with mathematics. And who knew that Mozart encoded messages into his music with cyphers?\\r\\n\\r\\nOverall, A Song Unheard was brilliant-Roseanna M White's best book yet. Recommended for fans of Edwardian romance, and romantic suspense. \\r\\n\\r\\nThanks to Bethany House and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.
