Molly McKenzie's bright personality and on-trend fashion and beauty advice have earned her an impressive social media following, as well as a big paycheck each month. When her manager-turned-boyfriend says she has an audition to appear as a host on a makeover show that nominates underprivileged youth, her dream of further fame seems to be coming true. There's just one catch: she has little experience interacting with people in need.

When her manager-boyfriend convinces her to partner with a local organization, she begins volunteering with a summer youth program. The program's director, Silas Whittaker, challenges her at every turn, but she swiftly grows more attached to the kids--and him--every day.

As Molly experiences an acceptance unlike anything she's known, she wrestles with the lies she's been believing about herself for years. She thought she knew what mattered most in life, but maybe she's had it wrong this whole time, and there's more to being truly seen than what she's built her entire life on.

    Get ready to influence!

This takes a stunning look into the life of an online influencer, and what a hectic job it is to be one--and what happens when her normal daily life of influence and status receives the ultimate challenge. Being in the spotlight leaves her with so much to maintain, but the lessons come hard and fast, and she swiftly rises to the challenge. Molly's journey is astounding and so beautiful, the author had me crying by the end of it. Her heart just seems to grow and grow as her faith is forced to the fore. What does she believe and WHY does she believe it? Has she been believing the wrong thing? She's a very savvy soul, and I loved the way she can really think on her feet. It's been such a while since I read a novel so relevant to today's world. I can't recommend this book highly enough, and I'll be back for more of her stories. Loved it.

    Gorgeous

I didn't like Molly's lifestyle at the start (I was fine with the social media; it was the wine/boyfriend I didn't like). If you don't either, persevere. It didn't last that long, and the transformation is worth it. Even when I thought Molly had done all her 'changing,' she discovered more of her heart that needed to be turned over to God, and I loved that. So often we think we're fine, only to learn just how far we've drifted away from God while 'cruising' along. Even Silas who seems to have it all together, still needs to learn to forgive his big brother. This book is pretty much 3/4s Molly's story (first person POV) and 1/4 Silas (first person POV). I liked that Silas got to 'speak', although I would have preferred it to be a little more even. However, both of their stories were interesting, engaging, and a learning experience. I loved how the story turns out and the emphasis on what is 'real' in life and what 'real love' is. A great read.

    Six Stars!

This book was incredible, just like I knew it would be. Deep, witty, thought-provoking, challenging, fun, heart wrenching (but in a really good way), beautiful, fun, real. . . \\n\\nBeyond being a captivatingly beautiful story, it really made me think about my platform, influence and the way I use social media. I wondered if I would feel condemned or guilty after reading a book about a topic like this. In all honesty, I did feel challenged, but also really encouraged. It was a great reminder that God gives us all our particular gifts, and every one of them - even the ones that seem frivolous like sharing pretty photos on social media, or being a style icon - can be used to honour God. \\n\\nFeel like there is a lot more I could say about this book and how it impacted me, but I might leave it there for now. Definitely read it though. I will say that. \\n

    Absorbing

This book draws you in from the first page and is very difficult to put down. The story had so much in it to encourage and teach us. As you would expect with this genre there is a beautiful growing romance between Molly and Silas, but the bigger romance is Molly' journey to realising that she is loved and accepted by God. It was really enlightening and challenging to meet the young adults who have aged out of the foster care system and journey with them for a while. This was beautifully handled. \\nThis is a book that you finish but don't really want to leave.
