An interesting viewpoint, but not my humour

Bob Hartman takes nine well known New Teastament stories - He then takes a minor character and expands on the story from their point of view. I think this is a really cool idea, and does help children see the story in new ways. Lots of the characters focused on, are young children too. What I don't like about this book, is that the humour uses poor behaviour to try to be funny. Disrespectful communication between the inn keeper and his wife, where she puts down her husband a lot, disobedient children who encourage each other to go against their parents rules, etc. The font is a good size for easy reading, and there are funny cartoon drawings on most of the pages. For ages 8 and up.
