To many modern readers, the prophecies of Ezekiel are a mystery. This commentary seeks to answer the questions that contemporary readers bring to the text by examining the language, the message, and the methods of this obscure and often misunderstood Hebrew prophet. It provides an excellent discussion of the background of Ezekiel and offers a verse-by-verse exposition of each literary/prophetic unit, making clear the prophet's message to his original readers and to us today. Over 800 pages each, from Eerdmans

These twin convictions, shared by all of the contributors to The New International Commentary on the Old Testament, define the goal of this ambitious series of commentaries. For those many modern readers who find the Old Testament to be strange and foreign soil, the NICOT series serves as an authoritative guide bridging the cultural gap between today's world and the world of ancient Israel. Each NICOT volume aims to help us hear God's word as clearly as possible.

    Thankful for this!

I spent a long time saving for this and have no regrets! So thankful to Daniel Block for spending so much time and effort crafting a commentary on Ezekiel. For anyone wanting to understand this theologically rich book on a deeper level (which I would say, everyone should), this is the commentary for you!
