Common people ...

Story after story marked by scandal, stumble, and intrigue. Who are these people? They're the people of the Bible.

And they're us. We find our stories in theirs. We find our hope where they found theirs. In the hands of an uncommon God.

In the midst of them all ... hovering over them all ... is the hero of it all: God. Maker. Shaper. Rescuer of sinking hearts. God. Passing out high callings, second chances, and moral compasses to all comers and takers.

In this gathering of inspiring stories from his numbers best-selling books, master storyteller Max Lucado revisits some of his favorite biblical characters -- all of whom were very human and imperfect, just like us.

If God can find a place for them ... He might just have a place for us too.

Pick it up, it can be more than just a read.

Max Lucado's: Cast of Characters: Common People in the Hands of an Uncommon God, rolls out before you like a string of pearls linked together by a single resplendent theme, hope. The stories are complete within themselves, making it a perfect book that can be read in short bursts or time grabs BUT it's not a read and drop book, you are invited to explore. Max Lucado encourages you to drift into reflective thought and possibly revisit these characters on more than one occasion. \\r\\n\\r\\nEach chapter takes you to a deep place in God and asks you to rest there. You are accompanying these characters on a journey of hope. He aligns these well-known characters with possible experiences of our own and asks us to look a little deeper and realise that we are all faulty creatures, even those that God used in a mighty way. \\r\\n\\r\\nMax Lucardo invites us to walk with each of these characters to the meeting place of Jesus, each of us guided into place by the Holy Spirit. It's here that we see our reflection in and out of God, not once, but possibly again and again. \\r\\n\\r\\nAs these Bible characters merge with our contemporary world we are challenged to see into our own situations and ask questions of ourselves. \\r\\n\\r\\nAt the end of each chapter the author has provided a series of questions to engage our reflective thinking. \\r\\n\\r\\nPick it up. It can be more than just a read.
