It's the parable of the Lost Sheep, but as you've never heard before. Cecil is bored being a sheep so decides to leave the flock and go off on his own adventure. Only he gets stuck, and just knows the shepherd is going to punish him for it. Only the shepherd doesn't. Not only does he know every sheep's name (Amelie, Meredith, the other Meredith. . . ) but he is devastated to realise Cecil is missing and does everything he can to save him. Brilliantly written in language even very young kids will relate to, with bright and fun pictures, this book is perfect for kids and their parents alike. Couldn't recommend it more. An all-time favourite in our house and one which will likely be forever.

Nice book for children. There are a few sentences for each double page, so is suitable for preschool kids but older kids would appreciate it too. The story is written by an Aussie. The pictures are very simple but bright and colourful. In short, this books talks about Cecil who was bored with the monotony of life as a sheep, so decided to sneak away to the mountains. He gets stuck but is scared to call for help. Realising Cecil has gone, the shepherd leaves his other 99 sheep to rescue Cecil and on his return throws a big party. \\nThis books is part of a series.
