    Productivity from biblical perspective

I'm sure that if you go to a bookshop today, you would find thousands of titles on the topic of productivity. This is a great book on productivity from Biblical point of view. I like how the author defines productivity as not just about getting things done, but stewarding the gifts and opportunities that God has given us.

The author has divided the book into three parts, Perspectives, Principles and Practices. First, he gives readers the biblical purpose of productivity, i. e. we want to be productive so we bring glory to God and good to our neighbours (Matthew 22:37 - 39). Furthermore, the author gives a biblical perspective from the wisdom literature, emphasizing our responsibility to be diligent in our work (Proverbs), but also surrendering to our sovereign God (Ecclesiastes).

In many ways, I find what the author has written on Principles (like goal setting, having a schedule, etc) and Practices (Spiritual Disciplines, Avoiding Pitfalls to productivity) is similar to what the secular self-help productivity books like Stephen Covey's. It is nonetheless a great book to read and would like to recommend to those who need good advice on time management and productivity from biblical point of view.
