I picked up this novel intending to read just one or two chapters. . . it was only when the light started darkening that I realized that I had been reading for hours, and the book was nearly finished! Melissa Ferguson's writing style is so pleasant to read, and her characters easily draw you in to their world. At first I thought I couldn't relate to Cat (she is, after all, famous for a living!), but after a while I realized that the problems she faces are experienced in some degree or another by anyone who lives in this media saturated world. While this is clean fiction rather than Christian fiction, there is a strong moral to the story with a definite Christian worldview. If you enjoy authors like Pepper Basham and Bethany Turner, you will like this book!

Sweet Romance
An intriguing look into the world of Influencers and the work they put into being 'effortless', but also the impact a life like that has on both them and those around them. The romance was really sweet, and the friends the absolute best! I loved how the author put (fictional) Instagram posts at the start of each chapter, as a way of seeing the world through Cat's eyes and, as the story went along, how she started seeing the world differently. In some ways, this book was really confronting (in a 'we're all way too addicted to social media and our phones' way) but it was also handled really well. If you enjoy fun romances with a side of plaid-wearing-mountain-utter-gentleman, you'll love this.

clean but zero mention of God
For a purely secular novel this is clean and well written. I liked the contemporary plot line and the realism in addictions to phones and media. It was not pushy toward the agenda and the romance was sweet. Growth and humility, mainly in Cat, was welcome and done well. I think this will be a good read and wake up call for some who are phone addicted.
