We make dozens of decisions, big and small every day--some without much thought at all. But with many decisions, there's a certain amount of danger. One wrong decision can destroy a career or a marriage. A string of wrong decisions can derail a life. So how do we know if our decisions are wise ones?

Pastor Bob Merritt has found that the best way to get it right is to cultivate godly wisdom. In *Get Wise*, he takes God's best wisdom as found in the book of Proverbs and applies it to the top decisions every person has to make--decisions about education, work, family, friends, sex, parenting, money, and more. Topic by topic, he shows readers how to make choices that result in long-term benefits in health, reputation, peace, and finances.

A Book That Is Sure to Impart Wisdom!

How do we know if our decisions are wise ones - decisions about marriage, sex, parenting, vocation, career, friends, money and so on? What is the difference between people who flourish in life and those who don't? It is wisdom. The former have wisdom which they apply to virtually every situation they face in life. They intuitively ask,""""What's the wise thing to do?"""" Based on a study of the book of Proverbs, Pastor Bob Merritt has written a book that clearly underscores the value of wisdom and shows the reader how to acquire it. He also discusses where a wise life begins and why decisions about one's heart, one's words and one's steps are foundational to the rest of one's life. After laying these foundations, Merritt proceeds to expound how wisdom is to be applied in three primary areas of one's life: relationships, family, and work and financial success. What makes reading Merritt's book so delightful (to quote Bill Hybels) is the many personal anecdotes and experiences that the author shares with the reader. He minces no words and is not afraid to share his own failures and foibles. No matter where one is in his station in life, he is sure to find helpful stuff from this book. Read this book to be wise about how to live one's life. More importantly, read the book of Proverbs and the whole Bible and live by the life principles which they teach. Highly recommended!
