    Push to godliness

Targeted at women, and perhaps particularly for mums of young children who are in the thick of house-work parenting, 'Glimpses of Grace' is a wonderful push to godliness. The author addresses issues such as making 'the perfect home' your idol, offering helpful reminders to be godly. But what is absolutely wonderful about this book (and is the book's central message), is the call to centre everything we do on God's grace which has been shown to us in Jesus. It's not a call to 'try harder' or 'to reorganise your life', but instead to allow the gospel of Jesus to saturate every aspect of your life. If you get stuck in the first few chapters, thinking it's a bit repetitive, or unsure if you understand the author's train of thought, push on, because the second half of the book contains some real gems.

    Insightful teaching

This book is written for women. Gloria Furman takes our everyday life and shows how God's grace and enabling is needed and provided. God's love for us in sending Jesus and how we can live fully for Him is woven through every chapter. Gloria uses lots of personal examples and bible verses to explain each point and show God's faithfulness and grace in her life. . Although there is great biblical teaching and the continual thread of God's grace for the everyday, I found the book a little difficult to follow as the flow of her thoughts at times is a little disconnected.
